All volunteers, regardless of their role at FEAST, must complete our online introductory course. You’ll hear from our founder about the aims of FEAST, and be able to access our volunteer handbook.

This contains all the information you need to know to begin your volunteer journey, as well as guidelines for behaviour and expectations in our kitchens. There’s also a venue guide with information about where our services are based, and who it is that we support.

We ask all our volunteers to read through this information carefully, as it contains everything you need to know for everyone to have a safe and rewarding experience when you volunteer with FEAST.

All cooking volunteers must complete the CPD-certified basic food hygiene course on our training platform. It includes information about hand-washing, keeping surfaces clean, and 
your responsibilities in terms of contaminants and allergens.

The course is available in both video and PDF formats. 
Once you’ve gone through all the information on the course, 
you'll need to complete a basic food hygiene quiz to receive 
your certificate.

You’ll also need to watch a short tutorial on how to use SignUp, available on our Training Platform, which we use to organise all our cooking sessions.

Once you’ve booked your first session, you’ll be able to access the induction videos for each of our venues. These will help you understand how each specific kitchen works, depending on the venue you’ll be working at, and provide specific safety information – for example, where the fire exits are located.

If you’re a delivery volunteer, you’ll need to watch a short tutorial on how to use Airtable, our booking system, which we use to show what routes are available, and what times we need help from our drivers.

After watching the tutorial, get in touch via email and you’ll be granted access to the system.
