As a charity working with surplus food, it’s really important to make sure we waste as little as possible, and that most of the food donated to us is used – including finding ways to compost our food scraps. Minimising our impact on the environment is also a big concern. Are we being as sustainable as we could be?
That is where our Sustainability and Food Waste project comes into play. We work with a group of amazing volunteers who have a good understanding of environmental and sustainability issues, and who are helping us to be as sustainable as possible.
This project looks at issues such as how much food we waste, how much plastic we use, and how sustainable our methods are. Our volunteers collect data on these issues, find solutions, and put them into action.
