Camden Food Partnership
The Camden Food Partnership (CFP) formed in 2020 in response to the pressing need to address food security issues in Camden. While initially focused on alleviating food poverty, the CFP now aligns with the broader Camden Food Mission that by 2030, everyone in Camden eats well every day with nutritious, affordable, and sustainable food. This recognises that food insecurity is not just about income, it is shaped by personal, systemic, and environmental factors beyond any individual’s control.
Since 2022, FEAST has worked in partnership with Camden Council to coordinate and develop the Camden Food Partnership. Today FEAST is a member of the CFP Steering Group and a Camden Food Mission Catalyst Partner, where we bring our expertise and capacity to drive wider impact and local food system change in health and nutrition.
How the partnership works
The Camden Food Partnership (CFP) is a strong, dynamic and collaborative network of over 80 members led by a steering group, bringing together residents, businesses, grassroots groups, and the voluntary and public sectors, that can drive meaningful local action with far-reaching influence.
The Steering Group and wider partnership members regularly meet to share knowledge, challenges and offer support, discuss the partnership’s strategic direction and review progress and outcomes of key projects.
We were delighted that Camden was recognised in Sustain’s 2024 Good Food Local London report as showing leadership in joined up action on food and tackling food poverty. Camden became a member of the Sustainable Food Places network in June 2024. The Network brings together pioneering food partnerships from towns, cities, boroughs, districts and counties across the UK that are driving innovation and best practice on all aspects of healthy and sustainable food. Sustainable Food Places is a partnership programme led by the Soil Association, Food Matters and Sustain: the alliance for better food and farming.
