Cooking and eating together brings joy and nourishes the body and mind. For the past 10 years this has been at the heart of what FEAST With Us stands for – creating dignified opportunities for people at risk of food and nutritional insecurity to come together around a nutritious meal, share experiences and stories, learn, and be empowered.
Sadly, an estimated 15% of families and 16% of adult Londoners experience food insecurity, and this is only increasing due to cost of living rises and increasing food costs. We combine our nutrition knowledge and cooking skills to support people to eat more healthily on a budget and improve their health and wellbeing.
This recipe book provides a snapshot of the amazing meals that have been created by and shared with some of the wonderful people we have had the privilege to support through our nutritious community meals and healthy eating on a budget programmes. I hope you enjoy reading their stories and sampling their recipes as much as I have.
